FAQs
I have lost the instructions for this product/ I don’t know how to use it
This product is very easy to use and you can download the operating instructions by clicking on the ‘Instructions’ tab in the right hand menu of this product page.
Can I paint your products?
No, we do not advise the painting of our heaters
Are your towel rails approved for bathroom use?
Yes all of our towel rails are IPX4 Rated (Splash Proof) so suitable for use in the bathroom
Will your towel rails heat the whole bathroom?
Towel rails are not generally designed to heat your bathroom, but to dry/warm towels and provide supplementary heating. Some of the larger sized models could heat a small bathroom, but this will depend on the loading of the product and the size of the room. If you are looking for full heating, then it would be preferable to select one of our bathroom radiators which are specifically designed for room heating.
How many towels can I hang on my towel rail at any one time?
It is not advisable to put more than a couple of towels on a towel rail at any one time, otherwise the air cannot circulate around the towels
Can I reduce the output of your towel rails?
Yes, by using one of our optional energy regulators you can reduce the output and, therefore the surface temperature of the towel rail. Two energy regulators are available and the most suitable version will depend on the output of the towel rail
Do you manufacture towel rails for use on my wet central heating system?
Yes, our BR range can be connected to a water central heating system
Are your towel rails suitable for constant use? If so, are they costly to run?
All of our towel rails are designed for constant use. The 'S' range of towel warmers have a very low wattage, costing the same as a light bulb or two to run. The amount of energy used with other ranges will vary according to the wattage of the model chosen. Most models can be fitted with the Dimplex Energy regulator (DX4123) which is wall mounted outside the bathroom and works in a similar way to a light dimmer switch. It provides on/off and variable temperature control.
Do they require much maintenance?
There are no internal moving parts so they require little if any maintenance
What’s the surface temperature of your towel rails?
The surface temperature varies according to the model of the towel rail, the ambient temperature and the number of towels on it. Chrome models also tend to have a slightly higher surface temperature than white models. However, all our towel rails are designed to BEAB safety and quality standards and all are in compliance with approval standards for surface temperature
